We saw the need
The Poverty, Diseases, Ignorance, lack of basic and proper education with necessary life skills, misery, griefs, horrible living and housing conditions, backwardness, drugs addictions, street children, hopelessness, food insecurity and environmental degradation gave birth to SECOND CHANCE CHARITABLE TRUST - UGANDA. Amidst these life threatening challenges, people are in need of another chance to live better and dignified lives without exception..
We sold our vision
Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. Six outstanding, exemplary , honest, community helpers engaged in private and collective initiatives for the public good in their various walks of life decided to commit themselves to forming a single, undivided , loud VOICE to bring positive change in weak and poor communities of Uganda. They started with greater Mubende Area in the South Western part of Uganda and moving on with time and more resources to other parts of the country.
We sought expertise
The following Trustees: Mr Thomas Kasumba, Mr Joseph Kateete, Ms Thamalie Nantale, Rev. Fr Paul Muganga, Mrs Teopista Nalubombwe Lubega and Ms Harriet Namatovu Lubega bring a wealth of benevolent and humanitarian experience and expertise to "Second Chance Charitable Trust" having worked with the poor and vulnerable in needy and rural communities for a very long time. Surrounded by compassion and giving tradition, they are challenging the world to create a lasting Philanthropic legacy amongst peoples. They have unwavering conviction that every one regardless of background, color, creed, gender, age, political affiliation or ethnicity but in need, deserves another chance. No one should live disadvantaged and vulnerable lives in our times.
